The JumpSeat^® Wall is a finalist in the "Products + Health Care" category. Architizer is the world's largest and fastest growing website for architecture and launched the definitive architectural award program with 60 categories and over 300 jurors. The Architizer A+ Awards received entries from 100 countries and represents the best of architecture and design worldwide. Sedia Systems is honored to be recognized alongside some of the industries' best and brightest minds and most innovative products.

The JumpSeat Wall provides touchdown seating for environments where short-term seating is needed but space is limited, which is often the case in healthcare settings. Its distinctive design is crafted around the elements of cantilevered bridges and the human spine. Both structures use thick, rigid compression elements with thinner, more flexible tension components. Plywood slats and steel produce the vertebrae of the JumpSeat Wall, creating an articulating seat that cantilevers off of the wall. Since the seat can be attached directly to a wall, space is saved and optimized. The unique, cantilever structure allows the JumpSeat Wall to bend into position without hinges or hardware.

The clean and simple design of the JumpSeat Wall make it the ideal solution for healthcare corridors, patient rooms and waiting areas. The series of plywood slats create a graceful curve when the JumpSeat Wall is compressed and the seat almost disappears when not in use. Seat cushions are manufactured with high-density foam to provide superior comfort. The chair is manufactured from NAUF plywood that is SCS-certified as 100% pre-consumer recycled wood and Sedia Systems is certified for Forest Stewardship Council Chain-of-Custody.

The compact JumpSeat Wall provides a solution for limited space by folding to less than four inches when not in use. Its versatility and space-saving characteristics allow healthcare facilities to use the chair in numerous spaces throughout their environments. The renowned jury for the Architizer A+ Awards includes American architects Denise Scott Brown and Tom Kundig, and Danish architect Bjarke Ingels. Other jurors include Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, founder of Fuseproject Yves Behard, Design Within Reach CEO John Edelman, Cameron Sinclair of Architecture for Humanity and Barry Berdoll of MoMA. The products were judged based on form, function, innovation, intent and reality. However, voting is not only limited to this panel of judges.
